The Clean function removes duplicate entries and those entries for which there is not a corresponding UDF data file online from selected databases. The first case occurs at times when adding data with older versions of dBAsk and the latter when UDF data files are manually removed from disc rather than removed through the dBAsk Delete function.
To clean all databases select CLEAN DATABASE from the ACTION list. To clean only specified databases use the PMEIV options to specify which databases are to be included in the clean function. For instance, if you set only the PROJECT then all of the databases under that project will be cleaned. Selecting both the PROJECT and MISSION restricts the cleaning to only those files under that PROJECT and MISSION. The further down the UDF lineage options you progress, the more specific the query becomes. Databases are formed on the INSTRUMENT level so selection of a VIRTUAL has no effect. The database containing that VIRTUAL will be cleaned. You can clean either the DATA or VIDF databases (or both) by selecting the file type from the buttons to the left of the display area. The UDF PIDF files do not have an associated database.
To begin the cleaning option click on the CLEAN DATABASE button.
