Install

The INSTALL function allows you to locally install or update packages. This consists of retrieving the package from server, de-installing the local version of the package should one exist and installing the updated or new version. With only a few exceptions these are all source installs.

An install must be preceeded by a REQUEST. After a request has been made, highlight the program to be installed by clicking on it. Clicking on a highlighted program unselects it. Once the packages to be installed are highlighted click on INSTALL.

The figure below shows program(s) ready to be installed or upgraded. The first package in the list is an upgrade and the rest are new packages. The upgrade package shows the version of the package currently installed under the INSTALLED column and the version number of the package which it will be upgraded to under the DATABASE column. New packages have ----- under the INSTALLED column indicating that there is no installed package.
