The DEINSTALL function allows you to locally remove installed packages. This consists of removing the package top directory, all contents under that directory and removing any executable files which may have been moved into (bin directory during the install.
To activate the DEINSTALL option select one or more selections under the PACKAGES column and only the INSTALLED option under the SHOW column. Use the REQUEST button to show a list of installed software under the PACKAGES options selected.
The figure below shows program(s) which can be selected to be deinstalled. The programs are those installed under both the UDFTOOL and IDLTOOL package catagories. Clicking on one or more of the displayed packages with hilight it. Clicking on the DEINSTALL button will remove the hilighted packages.
Not all packages can be deinstalled. There are a small number of protected packages. These packages, if deinstalled, would effectively disable the udfLibrarian which would be needed in any further installs, and deinstalls. If you selected a protected package you will be notified when the package comes up to be deinstalled.
