Any file name can be given to a Menu File created through the Generic Menu software, however, to distinguish between Menu Files created by different applications, an extension is generally added. The extension allows the Find Menu option to locate menus which belong to specific applications. It is not required by the Generic Menu software which is able to determine the parent application when it loads the Menu File.
