CXIT.README 3 December, 1993 CXIT is an imaging and mapping program initially based on NCSA Image. The ability to project the image onto a standard mapping (azimuthal, orthographic and Mollwiede are currently supported) makes this program unique. The data sets containing the images must be in CDF format, with the image and the mapping coordinates each in an array variable. Use NETWORK encoding, SINGLE file, and COLUMN majority (some versions work in either ROW or COLUMN majority). The X-windows version, using Athena, is available via anonymous ftp as a tar archiv. Documentation is included. The archive is located on ncgl.gsfc.nasa.gov at the NSSDC in the directory ~ftp/pub/cxit/. The Macintosh and PC versions, both in "beta" (i.e., some bugs may exist, since these programs are in progress), may be obtained from the NSSDC Request Office, NASA/GSFC, Code 633, Greenbelt MD, 20771. Requests may be sent by E-mail, to NSSDCA::REQUEST (or request@nssdca.gsfc.nasa.gov), or using the NSSDC NODIS account. To access this account over DECnet, set host to the NSSDC Vax and enter NSSDC or NODIS as the Username (no password is needed) and follow the menus. From Internet, telnet or ftp to nssdca.gsfc.nasa.gov and enter NSSDC or NODIS as the username. For further information, contact D. Bilitza at NSSDCA::BILITZA (or bilitza@nssdca.gsfc.nasa.gov) or (301) 441-4193.
