FILE_ATTRIBUTES: Variable length, unformatted, sequential file RECORD_LENGTH: 28 words TYPE_OF_FILE_DESCRIPTION: This file contains the VEFI AC 16 second averaged data (VEFI ionospheric irregularities data base). This data set is the result of a study on statistical presentations of the VEFI AC data. The data included in this data set was all the VEFI AC data for which microfiche was available at the time the study was conducted (approximately half of all VEFI AC data possible); Microfiche browsing was necessary to assure that all data included in the study were good data. The data were averaged at 16 second intervals using the begining of the day as reference and put in a single file. Every record in this file contains: Date and time of the data in the record (which is the middle time of the 16 second period used in the average), the 16 second averaged data for each channel of each of the three spectrometers, and invariant latitude, magnetic local time, geographic longitude and latitude, altitude, and Kp for the middle time of the 16 second average.
