The PACKAGES and SHOW buttons

The PACKAGES and SHOW buttons are used in tandom. The PACKAGES options allow the selection of various logical software package groupings to be queried while the SHOW options act to filter the output.

The figure above shows the options that may be selected from under both the PACKAGES and SHOW headings. Briefly these represent:

PACKAGES

UDF
The set of C-based software packages which make up core UDF access and database management software.
GPH
The set of C-based software packages which make up core UDF generic graphics software. This is used primarily but the UDFplot package.
UDFTOOLS
A set of stand-alone C and Tcl/Tk based software packages. These comprise both analysis and support programs including the Client, Server, Database Management, UDF plot, and UDF Librarian packages.
TCLTOOLS
A set Tcl/Tk based software packages. These include both core and analysis packages. There are both UDF and Graphics support packages which offer the same functional as the corresponding C-base packages.
IDLTOOLS
IDL based analysis packages.
DOCS
Documentation packages.

SHOW

INSTALLED
Show only what is installed on the local system. There is no check made against the software archive.
OLD
Match packages between the local system and the software archive and show those packages from the software archive which have earlier revisions.
CURRENT
Match packages between the local system and the software archive and show those packages from the software archive which have identical revisions. (Often used to select packages which need to be reinstalled.)
NEW
Show packages on the software archive that are not installed on the local system.
UPDATES
Match packages between the local system and the software archive and show those packages from the software archive which have later revisions.
