Invoking aTool

aTool is invoked through issuing the command aTool which brings up the GUI menu

The aTool Menu is conceptually divided into three sections. The upper section simply contains the Quit button which closes and exits the menu. The buttons below this give access to submenus which interface with the major UDF archive components. The bottom large window is a scrollable dialog area where status statements generated in the processing of various set-up and configuration procedures are output.

The details of the workings and options associated with each of the interface buttons will be taken up in the next few sections. In brief, select ARCHIVES if you wish to set up a new or modify the configuration parameters in an existing archive; select ARCHIVE CODES if you wish to add an Archive Code, and SERVER if you wish to modify any of the server configuration parameters.
