Overview

The shock normal program produces estimates of a shock normal vector from input data. Estimates are produced using four different approaches. These include Magnetic Coplanarity, Abraham-Shrauner, and Velocity Coplanarity which are preaveraged approaches and the iterative approach of Vinas-Scudder.

The general software is written in Tcl/Tk and should run under any of the popular operating systems. This universal portability comes at the expense of speed. To compensate for this the package also comes with a number of C backed Tcl routines. These are known to install under anya of the generic UNIX/Linux operating systems
