Low Energy Ion Composition Original Data

Description

These experimenter-supplied, ion composition data are on binary magnetic tape and were created on an IBM 370/178 computer. Each physical record of 10,1076 bytes contains one 124-byte slow auxiliary data record and sixteen 628-byte experiment data records. The slow auxiliary data consist of a format counter; year, day of year, hours, minutes, seconds, and milliseconds; local time in hours and minutes; radial distance; plasma frequency in units of 5 Hz; direction cosines of spin axis, magnetic dipole, and sun in VDH ; rate of change of radial distance, latitude, and longitude; spacecraft housekeeping data and payload status index. The experiment data records contain fast auxiliary data; hours, minutes, and seconds in universal time of first experiment sample of first four-format unit; experiment telecommand words; reset position flags; analog housekeeping data; energy and mass step numbers for 32 channels; and their counting rates.
