IMP-8 on NDADS


This is an overview about the information of the IMP-8 Goddard Medium
Energy (GME) on NASA Data Archive and Distribution Service (NDADS).
The information includes the production program (PHASUM), the analysis
programs (ANALIMPF, HGPLT, RATEPLOT), and data including Counts data
(CNTS), Pulse Height analysis data (PHA).

SOFTWARE

PROGRAM
- ANALIMPF The program analyzes the IMP-8 pha data from PHA files.
- HGPLT The program analyzes the IMP-8 pha and counts data from MATR files
- PHASUM The program analyzes the IMP-8 pha and counts data from MATR files
- RATEPLOT The program analyzes the IMP-8 pha and counts data from MATR files
GENERAL SOFTWARE INFORMATION
- Software
  The source codes are written in Sun FORTRAN language and in a compressed tar file (analimpf.tar.gz, hgplt.tar.gz).
- Processing Environment
  The program is developed on a Sun/OS system. A another developed operating system release 4.1.4 version shell program executes the programs.
- User's Guide
  The user's guide provides the input parameters information for the the users to execute the program. The file name is The file name is analimpf.guide.gz and in ascii format.
- Processing Environment
  The program is developed on a Sun/OS system. A developed shell program executes the program.

CNTS
- Filename
  The format of filename is YYDDD_yyddd_cnt_gme_imp8_v01.gz.

       yy : stopping year in last 2 digits
      ddd : stopping julian day

- Format
  A compressed IEEE (Sun) binary data. The record format is fixed block, record length is 1188 and blocksize is 3564.
- Data specification
  A data structure is in ascii format. The name of the file is cnts.doc
PHA
- Filename
  The format of filename is YYDDD_yyddd_pha_gme_imp8_v01.gz.
